01/ Overview
The route
From the Seetal up to the Hombergturm, this winter hike combines quiet stretches of forest and open meadows with sweeping views across the Hallwilersee to the Alpine chain.
From Boniswil railway station, the winter hike initially leads through the village to the Steinzeitwerkstatt, which focuses on Neolithic toolmaking and fire-lighting techniques. The route then climbs to Leutwil, passing the Reformed village church and directly by the Gasthof Linde. Beyond the houses, open meadows alternate with forest; gravel tracks and narrow natural paths lead via Häfni and Berg towards Homberg.
After passing the Gasthof Homberg, the trail gains more height. At around 780 m, the Hochwacht is the highest point of the hike. A little further on, the Hombergturm stands directly beside the route. From here, the panorama extends across the Seetal and the Hallwilersee to the Alpine chain; several fire pits are located near the tower.
A longer descent then leads through forest and across open terrain to Beinwil am See. On reaching the first houses, the route passes the Reformed village church and ends after around eight kilometres at Beinwil am See railway station.

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
