01/ Overview
The route
A short themed trail near Vicques, leading through woodland and across open meadows to the highest point near Horniberg.
The starting point near Vicques is not served by public transport; the nearest stop, Recolaine, Es Montes, is around two kilometres away. The Sentier de la Montagne A initially climbs across open terrain before soon entering the forest. Only the middle section follows a waymarked hiking trail; before and after this, the route is unmarked.
Just over halfway around, the trail reaches its highest point near Horniberg at around 670 m. By this stage, most of the 164 metres of ascent has been completed. The trail then descends again, at times running between woodland and open meadows. After just over an hour, the short circuit returns to its starting point in Vicques.

How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
