01/ Overview
The route
The Toggenburger Klangweg (sound trail) offers a very special kind of musical treat. The panorama path starts on Alp Sellamatt and combines amazing experiences with a stunning landscape. An exciting route for curious nature lovers.
From the Alp Sellamatt stop, this short hike initially passes the Sellamatt mountain inn and Lukas Chapel. The starting point is also the highest point on the route, at just under 1,400 m above sea level. The elevation profile is correspondingly gentle: with only a few short uphill sections, the trail leads mostly downhill across the open meadows and pastures of Sellamatt.
The forest soon begins to predominate along the yellow-waymarked hiking trail. A short middle section runs outside the marked hiking trail network before the route rejoins a hiking trail. From there, it continues towards Iltios between clearings and the edge of the forest, without any significant climbs. After around two kilometres and half an hour, the hike ends at Unterwasser, Iltios. The Iltios stop is only a few minutes’ walk from the end point.
