Thurgauer Panoramaweg

The Thurgauer Panoramaweg leads past orchards and nature reserves, visits a moated castle, passes through classic farming villages and well-preserved old towns as well as over the highest mountain in Thurgau, with views of the Bodensee and Alps.

From Amriswil railway station, this long hike soon leaves the built-up area behind. Crossing meadows and passing through small villages, the trail reaches Hagenwil, where it passes the moated Schloss Hagenwil. Open fields then alternate with short stretches of woodland and further clusters of houses. At Horber Weier, the route meets the Weierbach and follows it to Horbacher Weier. A little later, Hauptwiler Weiher also lies directly beside the trail, which continues via Hauptwil to Bischofszell.

Beyond Bischofszell, the landscape becomes more rural again. In a long series of ascents and descents, the trail climbs across meadows, through woodland and scattered hamlets towards the Nollen. Near the hill, the route reaches its highest point at around 730 m; from here, it descends via Hosenruck. Later, it follows the Dorfbach Zuzwil for a short stretch before woodland and open terrain alternate once more. In Wil, the final section leads through the town, directly past the Hof zu Wil, and on to Wil SG railway station.
