Via Mundaun 3

The final stage of the Via Mundaun takes you deeper into the sun-drenched Lumnezia. Once you complete the final ascent to Curschellas, you’re rewarded with a breathtaking view into the valley. Your destination is Lumbrein, the perfect end to a spectacular winter hike through Surselva.

The roughly ten-kilometre winter hike begins at the Vella, Sumsiaras bus stop. The route soon leaves the houses of Vella behind and climbs across the open slopes of Val Lumnezia. After the first ascent, it passes directly by the Davos Munts Seecafé before finally leaving the settled area behind.

The route continues uphill across meadows and pastures, with around 540 metres of ascent in total. Just over two-thirds of the way along, it reaches its highest point at approximately 1,740 m; Piz Sezner is the nearest peak here. The trail then gradually descends, traversing the broad slopes towards Lumbrein.

Towards the end, the first houses of the village draw closer. On the southern edge of Lumbrein, the medieval Chisti residential tower stands not far from the route. After a little over three and a half hours, the winter hike ends at the Lumbrein, vitg bus stop.
