Passing the bear park, Marzili and the Dählhölzli animal park, you finally leave the capital heading upstream. After the Auguet bridge, you briefly follow the course of the Aare and the peculiar groundwater flow of the Giesse. The rest of the way continues on agricultural roads across the plain and along the foot of the Belpberg to Münsingen.

The approximately 15-kilometre hike begins at the Bern, Bärenpark stop on the eastern edge of the Old Town. At the Altes Tramdepot, the cityscape initially remains in view before the trail follows the Aare for a short stretch. The route then enters the Dählhölzli and continues through the Elfenauhölzli.

The Fähribeizli offers a refreshment stop directly on the route. The trail continues past Restaurant Muribad, beyond which sections of woodland alternate with meadows and the houses of Kräyigen. Later, it passes the Jägerheim and heads south through increasingly open terrain. Despite the distance, the gradients remain mostly gentle.

On the final section, the trail climbs gently once more. Near the Belpberg, it reaches the highest point of the hike at 562 m before descending to the Schützenfahrbrügg near Münsingen. After just under four hours, the hike ends there; the Münsingen, Badi stop is immediately beside the destination.
