WALSA-Weg, Stage 4/4

The boat takes you across Walen Lake to Mediterranean Quinten in the foothills of the Churfirsten mountain range. Narrow woodland paths lead to Betlis, after which you will be entering record-setting territory: at 585 metres, Seerenbach Falls are among the highest in the country. This route rises through Betlisbergwald wood to Amden, a suntrap above Walen Lake.

The tour begins at the Murg bus stop, directly beside the Walensee. After crossing the lake, the hike continues in Quinten on the steep northern shore. The St. Bernhard chapel and Restaurant Tremondi lie directly on the route. Beyond the houses, the mountain trail begins to climb and soon enters the forest.

With extended ups and downs, it follows the slope high above the water. Meadows and pastures open up between dense stretches of forest, with frequent views back over the Walensee. Approaching Betlis, the rocky flanks become more prominent. The three-tiered Seerenbachfälle can also be seen from some distance, their cascades measuring a total of 585 metres.

In the final third, the route joins an easier hiking trail and climbs steeply once more. After a total ascent of around 820 metres, the highest point, at approximately 910 m, is reached just before the destination. A little later, the hike of just over three and a half hours ends at the Amden, Dorf bus stop.
