01/ Overview
The route
Twelve information panels follow the Wigger from Nebikon to Schötz, revealing the many fish, birds, reptiles, insects and plants that find a habitat along the stream.
From the Nebikon, Maschinenfabrik bus stop, the themed trail leads out to the Wigger. Twelve information panels explain how a stream becomes a habitat, presenting its fish, birds, reptiles, insects and plants. The broad hiking trail runs through meadows and open farmland, interspersed with short sections of woodland. The Egolzwilersee lies a good 350 m to the west and is not passed directly.
From panel 7 onwards, the Willisau–Schötz Planet Trail also follows the route. Near panels 10 and 11, a picnic area offers a place to rest. With no significant ascent, the trail continues towards Schötz, reaching its highest point at around 516 m shortly before the destination.
In Schötz, the trail ends at the Archaeological Museum. The nearest bus stop, Alberswil, Unterdorf, is around 400 m from the actual endpoint.

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
