Alongside the Grönbach stream in the secluded Justital valley, past the site of the famous ‘Chästeilete’, or annual cheese sharing. Between steep mountain flanks further into the valley, from where it is plain to see how the Sichelpass (Sichel = sickle or crescent) got its name.

The starting point of this nine-kilometre winter loop is Sigriswil, although there is no direct public transport connection. The nearest stop, Niederhorn, is around one kilometre away. From the start at just over 1'100 m, the route leads out into open countryside. It climbs across meadows and pastures during the first half, gaining around 260 metres in elevation overall. The broad, sparsely wooded landscape defines this ascent.

Near the halfway point, the Besenbeiz lies directly on the route. Shortly afterwards, the highest point is reached at 1'369 m, with the Gemmenalphorn as the nearest summit. The winter hike now descends again towards Sigriswil. Open terrain also characterises the return leg, while the elevation gained earlier is gradually lost. After just under three hours, the loop ends back at its starting point in Sigriswil.
