01/ Overview

The route

The well-maintained winter hiking route from the Saaseralp to the Zügenhüttli runs high up on Klosters’ sun-kissed local mountain, spectacular views over the Silvretta glacier before returning to Klosters.

The winter hike begins at the Madrisa stop at just under 1,900 m. From Klosters, Madrisa, the route climbs steadily through open terrain. Over the four kilometres, it gains around 240 metres in elevation; the expansive surroundings and steady ascent define the first section.

Around halfway, the circuit reaches its highest point at just under 2,100 m. It then descends again across the open slopes. After a little over an hour and a half, the route returns to Klosters, Madrisa; the Madrisa stop is right by the finish.
