01/ Overview
The route
Between Rhine River and Thur, along the sunny slope of the Cholfirst. On this fascinating hike from Dachsen to Ossingen you explore moraine hills and long drawn-out vineyards with extraordinary views.
From Andelfingen, the yellow-waymarked hiking trail initially leads out of the built-up area. It follows the Anderbach for a short stretch, after which open meadows and fields dominate the landscape. After just over an hour, the route reaches Benken and passes Restaurant Guggere. It then continues along farm tracks to Wildensbuch.
Around the halfway point, the trail climbs to its highest point near the Cholfirst. The gentle ridge is reached at an elevation of around 530 metres. Sections of woodland now alternate with open farmland before the route reaches Rudolfingen. Towards the end, the Längenrietgraben and the Trüllikerbach accompany sections of the route through the flat landscape. The trail comes close to the shore of the Husemersee before reaching Dachsen. Just under four hours should be allowed for the approximately 15-kilometre hike; the moderate ascents are spread evenly along the route.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
